Nyang's Funeral

I wish I am more like Shila, who blogs almost daily. Don't know why kekadang alterlebih rajin. Anyways lots of things did happen from the time I last blogged . On Sunday, 5th April Tina had sports. She was one of the pompom girls. She loves to dance, never mind the jiggly things that followed.

Around 9 am, we received a phone call from my brother. My great grandmother, who was 100, passed away peacefully at my mom's. We rushed to Ampang. Mandi jenazah was done there and then off to Linggi. The funeral went ok -around 3pm, the weather was warm then a slight drizzle and later not so warm.

We visited Abah's grave. Camarina and kakak, I think was reminded of their atuk's funeral- cried, especially Camarina, who hugged the batu nesan and didn't want to let go.

We waited for Pak Chu, who flew from Sarawak, he missed the funeral as he got to Linggi around 5. We then went to Mak Ncik hse and got back around 7.

The next day, Mak organised a tahlil.

Nyang was the eldest daughter of Great grandfather Samad. Her mom passed away while giving birth to her and she was raised by her uncle. Her father got married and have other children. Her only surviving sibling was her youngest sister Nyang Busu. Nyang had a daughter my nenek, who is at my mum's and adopted a son. Nyang dulu muda2 was very very strict. She was creative, she used to look at something and can easily duplicate them; Kalau belajar sure pandai punye. She got married at 12, got my nenek at 14.

She lived a long life. No health problems except cataract and hearing. She remembered those who visited her.

Alfatihah
